Several groups of family and friends are joining us for various segments of the journey. We expect to move at about 30 miles per day which doesn't sound much but will eat up about 180 miles in a week. Many of the places we are going through are very rural so getting to and leaving from them by public transport may be a bit challenging.
We can't even predict exactly when we will be where due to the vagaries of weather, currents, locks, places to stop, disasters, etc. The best way to deal with this seems to be to publish a map of the planned journey and to update it as we go along including currently planned dates for the places close ahead.
